Personal Update
I haven't been posting because I'm sick. The whole family is sick. I won't go into details but it's been rough. Bruno got it the Monday before Christmas and gave it to us. We've been camped out in our bed for days now. Christmas was a bust. Poor kid had to break up opening his gifts over two days because he was so sick. I lost two pounds and have barely eaten anything. Everyone has had fevers over 102. On the up side, Jerry had the week off and didn't have to go to work sick. On the down side, our vacation was trashed.

Fructose Proves An Unhealthy Option
Fructose Metabolism More Complicated Than Was Thought
ScienceDaily (Dec. 11, 2008) — A new University of Illinois study suggests that we may pay a price for ingesting too much fructose. According to lead author Manabu Nakamura, dietary fructose affects a wide range of genes in the liver that had not previously been identified.
See also:
* Diabetes
* Obesity
* The Double Danger of High fructose corn syrup
* Fructose Intolerance
* Carbohydrate overload
* Soft drink dangers
Chances are you consume quite a bit of fructose. Most Americans do—in refined sugars such as sucrose or table sugar (which is half fructose) and in high-fructose corn syrup, used in products as diverse as soft drinks, protein bars, and fruit juice.
But many scientists believe that high dietary fructose contributes to the development of metabolic syndrome, a group of risk factors that predict heart disease and Type 2 diabetes. Read more at Science Daily.

Perspective On What Christmas Is Really About
Who Started This Christmas Stuff?
A woman was Christmas shopping with her two children. After many hours of looking at row after row of toys and everything else imaginable; and after hours of hearing both children asking for everything they saw, she finally made it to the elevator with her two kids.
She was feeling what so many of us feel during the holiday time of the year - overwhelming pressure to go to every party, taste all the holiday food, get that perfect gift for every person on our shopping list, make sure we don't forget anyone on our card list, and so on.
The elevator was very crowded as she pushed her way in, dragging her two kids and all the bags of stuff. When the doors closed she couldn't take it anymore and said, "Whoever started this whole Christmas thing should be strung up and shot."
From the back of the elevator a quiet, calm voice respond, "Don't worry, we already crucified Him."
For the rest of the elevator ride, it was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.
This year, don't forget to keep "the One who started this whole Christmas thing" in your every thought, deed, purchase and words. If we all did, just think how different this world would be.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)

Oprah, queen of denial on her forty pound weight gain
Oprah says of her weight gain "I'm mad at myself, I'm embarrassed" Has Oprah been the queen of denial when it comes to weight gain? The answer is a definitive yes. Fans have watched all year as she slowly grew to 200 pounds. Sometimes our loyalty and love for someone blinds us, or causes us to overlook their faults and frailties. Several times, my husband has said, "Oprah's getting fat again." He's not one to mince words. I've repeatedly said, "I don't know, she's always been a big girl." Perhaps fans like me we're in denial also.
Oprah's trainer Bob Greene tells her "you're depressed." Oprah has gained 40 pounds in the past year due to upsetting circumstances in her life. Her best friend Gayle Greene, editor at large of O Magazine appeared this morning on "Good Morning America" to talk about Oprah's weight gain and her issues with a thyroid problem and depression. Gayle says, "I see a sadness in her face." Upset by the trouble that beset her girl's school in Africa, while strapped for time working on her show, magazine, and radio station, Oprah apparently has let herself go...again. Bacon chocolate anyone?
Britain sells out of bacon chocolate
LONDON (UPI) -- The only British store to stock chocolate bars infused with bacon said its entire stock of the unusual candies sold out within 48 hours of hitting the shelves.
Officials with Selfridges said the department store has ordered a new supply of Mo's Bacon Bar, which features chunks of applewood smoked bacon and smoked salt in milk chocolate...Read more.

HINT Essence Water Is A Holiday Must Have
The holiday season is here and food and beverages often take center stage. If you're looking a new drink to offer guests, the latest must-have is a flavored water called HINT Essence Water.
Available in 13 delicious flavors, HINT is for people who want something other than plain water to quench their thirst. With just a hint of flavor, HINT doesn’t contain any carbs, calories, sugar, or sodium like many other flavored waters.
Instead of serving your usual spritzer, juice, or soda to friends and family, substitute your mixer with a HINT of Peppermint flavored water. We all know peppermint is the traditional holiday flavor and HINT Peppermint can be sipped alone or added as a mixer to your favorite vodka, gin, or other liquor. HINT served alone is a perfect alternative for a healthy holiday drink that won’t pack on the pounds.
Below is one example of a recipe incorporating refreshing Hint Peppermint, perfect flavor for the holidays sent to me by a HINT representative.
Hint of Mint!
Ice
3 whole mint leaves
Lime wedge
2oz. of 3Vodka (a no-carb liquor made from soy isolates)
4oz. Peppermint HINT

Nourish Interactive promotes nutrition education for families
Nourish Interactive is "a free website that promotes nutrition education for families. Margaret LaBarbera started this website to promote nutrition to our nation's children because as a nurse she knows a few sobering facts:
* -childhood obesity is an epidemic and leading to a growing number of children with diabetes and heart disease (something seen in adults and rare in children but unfortunately is becoming more common now in kids)
* -over 80% of children do not eat a balanced healthy diet which leads to less optimal performance in school and increases the risk for diseases later in life
* -this is the first generation predicted to have a shorter lifespan than their parents
NourishInteractive.com is all about educating families about nutrition and exercise in a fun way. Nutrition education needs to be fun and engaging so that children will be excited to learn about being healthy. We provide fun, interactive online games for kids that are designed to teach through animation, exploration, and decision-making.
Nourishinteractive.com is the first website to create “matching” nutritional tools, one for the parent and one for the child. These nutrition tools send similar messages to both the parent and child, so the entire family can work as a team to establish good nutrition at home. Early nutrition education is the key to empowering children to make healthy choices throughout their lives."
I have made my site free because I believe all families need to have access to this information. As a Hispanic American, I also know that Latinos have one of the highest childhood obesity rate and fastest growing population of diabetic children. That is why I have made the commitment to offer the site and tools all in English and Spanish."

Latest Examiner column "Thanksgiving is a great day for fun and fitness"
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Here's an excerpt of my latest Examiner column:
"We usually associate Thanksgiving with food and football. This year, instead of camping out on the couch watching football, get everyone outside for a game of touch football. While the average Thanksgiving feast runs upwards of 1600 calories, a fun hour of touch football burns roughly 595 calories. Not a big football fan? A family game of soccer burns 475 calories an hour. If you use a few of the calorie cutting tips below in conjunction with an hour of activity you can prevent holiday weight gain."

Get fit now for free
The economy is in the toilet and almost everyone is slashing spending. Our personal budgets are under careful scrutiny. Luxuries are the first items to get slashed. Unfortunately, for most people this includes gym memberships, fitness equipment, supplements, and even diet products.
Even if your household budget and wallet are losing weight, it doesn't mean you can't lose weight at the same time. You can get fit for free. What's the catch? Just the small inconvenience that you'll have to be self motivating and not rely on your $50 an hour personal trainer to whip you into shape. Oh, and you can forgo that pricey gym membership while saving on time and gas.
For more information, including three sources of free exercise videos and sample workout videos check out my latest column at The Examiner.

Is there a weight loss cure for your mind?
"Create harmony between scientific knowledge and instinctual wisdom to sculpt a lean healthy body." – Matt Sison
Hypnosis can be a valuable tool for weight loss and weight maintenance. Hypnosis can be a potentially powerful path to permanent weight loss for many people. The key is to find a hypnotist who is highly trained, or a hypnosis program for weight loss designed by a highly trained hypnotist.
Weight Loss Made Simple CD by Matt Sison, C.Ht. and Rick Schaff, M.S.H.N. is just such a program. Weight Loss Made Simple is the best hypnosis program available today. I've tested my share of programs and this is my top choice. I use it regularly and highly recommend it. Both Rick Schaff and Matt Sison possess voices that are silky smooth and easy to listen to. The first time I finished listening to this set I wanted to immediately do so again. Talk about a "feel good" experience.
Many scientific studies have proven the effectiveness of hypnosis for weight loss. The American Society of Clinical Hypnosis defines hypnosis as "a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention." This state of focused concentration is similar to everyday activities like reading an absorbing novel, or playing an intense game of chess. Your mind is occupied with a single, profound focus on one thing. This creates a state of mind in which you can make the most of your thoughts. You can create the life you want by changing your thoughts. Hypnosis harnesses the power of thought and directs it in such a way that you can accomplish personal goals including weight loss.
One of the biggest road blocks to weight loss is your thoughts. If you've watched The Biggest Loser then you know that the personal coaching contestants receive include ways to break their habits of negative thinking and self sabotage. Until dieters change their thinking, and harness their minds for maximum weight loss results, they cannot successfully change their bodies. Permanent weight loss must be achieved through a permanent change to a healthy lifestyle. Hypnosis is an easy, pleasurable method to achieve this process.
Weight Loss Made Simple is based on Matt and Rick's combined experience of over 30 years helping individuals reach their health and fitness goals. You benefit directly from the guidance of a top rated hypnotist and a well respected nutrition and fitness expert. Matt Sison has received an international Hypnosis award only given to hypnotists held in high esteem. Rick Schaff is a Healthy Life Style Consultant with a Masters degree in Holistic Nutrition. He's also worked for some of the world's most influential Health and Fitness Magazines.
Don't spend hundreds of dollars on a hypnotist, or thousands at a Hypnosis center that may not deliver the quality of hypnosis you need. This CD set offers you the advice of two well respected professionals in the Hypnosis and Fitness / Nutrition industry for a fraction of the price.
While self hypnosis and free hypnosis websites exist, they do not offer the accurate, precise and effective hypnosis you receive from a licensed hypnotist with the experience and expertise that Matt Sison offers. Do not be fooled, hypnosis for weigh loss is only effective when delivered by a trained hypnotist of this high a caliber.
While there is no proven weight loss cure, hypnosis remains one of the most powerful weight loss tools available. Combined with a healthy approach to nutrition and physical activity, hypnosis is as close to a weight loss cure as we can get.
Weight Loss Made Simple is available through Matt Sison's Website Hypnosis and Fitness.
More on hypnosis research and it's effectiveness for weight loss.
Matt Sison, C.Ht.
Matt was awarded an International commendation given only to hypnotists considered to be in the top 1 percent of the industry. Matt's successful Hypnosis Concepts and Techniques brought him a list of clients from all over United States and overseas for private sessions: That list includes Celebrities, Olympic athletes and Professional Athletes. Furthermore, he teaches advanced Hypnotherapy concepts and methods to therapists of all sorts. Before becoming a Hypnotherapist, Matt was a successful fitness trainer for over 9 years, certified by the International Sports Science Association. Recently, he collaborated with Fitness-Nutrition Expert, Rick Schaff - M.S.H.N, to produce an inspiring program for weight loss. Can Alli make you a biggest loser?
Alli for weight loss; is it safe and effective?
What is Alli?
Alli weight loss aid is the latest diet craze. It's simply an over-the-counter version is the diet drug orlistat. Known as Xenical, orlistat was widely researched, and in double blind testing found to be effective for weight loss. Alli is a lower dose than the prescription drug, yet effective if used in combination with a low fat diet and exercise.
Is Alli a weight loss cure?
While a sure fire weight loss cure does not exist, Alli is a useful tool in your weight loss arsenal. The only other medical intervention that causes weight loss is weight loss surgery which is invasive and potentially dangerous.
How does Alli work?
Alli blocks 30 percent of the fat you eat and causes it to pass undigested through your digestive tract. Relatively safe to use, Alli can be purchased at virtually all drug stores, pharmacies, many grocery stores, and through online retailers like Amazon, Netrition, and MyAlli.com
Is Alli safe?
Alli is the only FDA approved weight loss drug. While safe, it can have side effects if misused. Effective for men and women, Alli is taken right before meals containing fat, and can be taken up to three times a day. Because Alli causes fat to pass through your digestive tract, it's recommended that you eat no more than 15 grams of fat in each meal. This will help you avoid embarrassing symptoms like gas and diarrhea.
Will you be a biggest loser by using Alli?
That depends on you and whether you also follow a healthy, calorie controlled, low fat diet. Moderate exercise will enhance your weight loss results and improve your health. Unlike Hoodia, which purports to control appetite, Alli was proven in scientific studies.
Are there effective alternatives to taking Alli?
Yes. Regular exercise and proper diet with careful calorie and carbohydrate control is effective for weight loss. If you simple eat 30 percent less fat you will not need Alli to remove it in the first place.

Bloggers Unite Today For Refugees
Imagine you wake up tomorrow and you are forced to leave your home and your country. You can only take what you can carry, or stuff into a suitcase or bags. If you're lucky, you may get to pack your possessions, some clothes, bedding, and food, into a small car. If you're unlucky, you leave with only the clothes on your back.
You are afraid for your life. You don't know what the future holds. You may be cold and hungry, and you will soon be tired. You will assuredly face exhaustion, and hopelessness may become your constant companion.
This is a fact of life for millions of men, women, and children around the world. And it's time for it to end.
According to Wikipedia, refugees are a subgroup of the broader category of displaced persons. Environmental refugees are people displaced by environmental problems such as drought, floods, earthquake, or severe weather. These displaced people are not included in the definition of "refugee" under international law.
According to international refugee law, a refugee is someone who seeks refuge in a foreign country because of war and violence, or out of fear of persecution "on account of race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group," to use the terminology from U.S. law.
The lead international agency coordinating refugee protection is the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). UNHCR counted 8,400,000 refugees worldwide at the beginning of 2006. The major exception was the 4,300,000 Palestinian refugees under the authority of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). This group is the only one to be granted refugee status to the descendants of refugees according to the above definition.
The U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants estimates there are over 34,000,000 refugees displaced by war, including internally displaced persons like the Palistinians who remain within the same national borders. The majority of refugees who leave their country seek asylum in countries neighboring their country of nationality.
The durable solutions to refugee populations, as defined by UNHCR and governments, are voluntary repatriation to the country of origin, local integration into the country of asylum, and resettlement to a third country.
As of December 31, 2005, the largest source countries of refugees are the Palestinian Territories, Afghanistan, Iraq, Myanmar, and Sudan. The country with the largest number is Sudan, with over 5 million. According to UNHCR estimates, over 4.7 million Iraqis have been displaced since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, with 2.7 million within Iraq and 2 million in neighbouring countries. At least 60,000 Iraqis are losing their homes and becoming refugees every month.
With awareness comes outrage. Outrage brings activism. Activism brings change.
It's time each of us opens are eyes and takes a good, hard look at the refugee problem in our world. It's time to be outeaged and it's time to demand change. It's time to create change.

Caribou Barbie's Latest Gaffe
Just when you think Sarah Palin couldn't possibly find one more pile of moose caca to step in she goes and steps in another one. Governor Palin - what was Alaska thinking? - took a prank call from a radio DJ pretending to be French president Nicolas Sarkozy. And Sarah bought his whole stick lock, stock, and barrel, despite the fact he dropped big hints he was a fake.
This would be funny except for the fact this woman could be one step away from the presidency. The ramifications of that are staggering. "Mrs. President, it's Osama Bin Laden on the line. He says if we don't hand over Alaska for his new base he'll blow up the White House and the capitol."

Happy Halloween and Nevada Day!
This Friday October 31st is my birthday. It also happens to be Halloween and Nevada Day - the day Nevada joined the union in 1864 and became the 36th state. I'll be preoccupied through the weekend so I may not get a chance to blog again until Monday.
Back to the real significance of October 31st - it's my birthday. And in the tradition of David Letterman I bring you "5 reasons why it sucks to share your birthday with Halloween." Hey, I ain't a comedian.
5. Getting the same 5 Halloween birthday cards over and over...every year.
4. Being nicknamed "spook" and "witch" since birth. This gets old after age 12.
3. Everyone around you is too busy getting high on candy, or booze, or both, to notice it's your birthday.
2. You have to share center stage with 1000 cute trick or treaters, not to mention one million reveling Nevadans.
1. There's a shortage on the champagne and chocolate you crave for a birthday dinner. All the champagne was bought up for Nevada Day, all the chocolate for Halloween.

Campbell Brown's Erroneous Opinion On Where Our Campaign Donations Should Go
First, I'd like to address CNN's Campbell Brown's erroneous idea that presidential candidates should donate a large amount of their campaign coffers to charity. Ms. Brown, when I and my fellow Obama supporters donate $5, or $50, to Senator Obama we want our money USED by the Senator himself to get elected as president. I did NOT send my hard earned money to him so that you could dictate it should go somewhere else. You have no right to suggest my money should go anywhere. It's my money, I earned it, and I have a right to donate it to my choice for presidential candidate with the expectation it will be used as I intended.
I'd bet that people who've donated money to Senator McCain meant for their donations to be used to elect him and not sent somewhere else. So, I respectfully disagree with you, Ms. Brown. It's also erroneous to believe that if we donate money to political candidates we didn't also donate to charity as well. I support charities as well. Please pay attention to your own finances and stay out of mine.

Palin and her family have shown utter disregard for wildlife.
From Care 2 and The Petition Site Team:
Palin: Take Consistent and Firm Stand Against Moose Poaching
Target: Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin
Sponsored by: Care2
The backstory to Sarah Palin's accusations against her former brother-in-law, Trooper Mike Wooten, reveals how Palin and her family have shown utter disregard for wildlife - unless it can be used to her political advantage!
According to the Troopergate investigation, Palin's sister Molly got a permit and invited her then-husband, Trooper Wooten, to join her on a moose hunting trip. When it came time to actually shoot the moose, Molly had no interest and asked Wooten to take the shot - even though it is illegal to shoot an animal under someone else's permit. After the shooting, the Wootens brought the moose to Palin's father for him to butcher.
Sarah Palin and her family had no issue with asking Wooten to illegally kill the moose under his wife's permit, nor did they have a problem butchering or eating it. But once Sarah Palin decided she could use the moose killing to attack her former brother-in-law, she did.
Palin needs to know: Moose are not political pawns - they are majestic animals and deserve to be treated humanely!

Al-Queda Supports McCain For President
Does anyone remember this guy?
The real enemy Osama Bin Laden was never in Iraq. In fact, Saddam Hussein hated Bin Laden and vice versa. We're in Iraq because George W. Bush lied about WMDs.
A vote for McCain Plays Right Into The Hands of Al-Queda
Lady Rose at The Diet Pulpit has an important article on the fact that Al-Queda Supporters Support McCain For President. Both The Washington Post and The Huffington are sources for this information as it was gleaned from posts on Al-Queda Message Boards. Please check this out if you're at all concerned about getting out of Iraq and going after the real enemies of America, the terrorists who attacked us on September 11th 2001.

Excerpt:
“Al-Qaeda will have to support McCain in the coming election,” said a commentary posted Monday on the extremist Web site al-Hesbah, which is closely linked to the terrorist group. It said the Arizona Republican would continue the “failing march of his predecessor,” President Bush.
“The idea in the jihadist forums is that McCain would be a faithful ’son of Bush’ — someone they see as a jingoist and a war hawk,” Raisman said. “They think that, to succeed in a war of attrition, they need a leader in Washington like McCain.”

There's a little more than 70 days left in 2008. The holidays are almost upon us including the New Year. Inevitably, the New Year means New Year's resolutions. And we all know the number one resolution is weight loss.
Why wait until the New Year to start on the path to a better you? There's no time like today. To encourage you to eat healthier and exercise I'm launching a new series "Tips to a New You."
Here's your first tip to eat healthier for weight loss you can do right now.
Portion Control
Whether you're low carb, low fat, low calorie, or a combination of the three, portion control is still key. Learn simple "eye ball" techniques for measuring your portions and you will lose weight. If you aren't losing weight try precisely measuring your portions.
Here are two excellent sources for portion control:
Leigh Peele shows you how tiny mistakes in measuring servings can mean big mistakes in eating too many calories in this free online video.
Measuring Portions at Restaurants Video
Learn To Eyeball Portions (I recommend you first learn exactly what a portion looks like by actually measuring).

Examine The Examiners
Here's a rundown of some of the latest and greatest articles at The Examiner. Click the title links to read more.
Best Weight Loss Products For Your Mind by Carol Bardelli, Fitness Examiner
Excerpt: I've personally used both hypnosis and subliminal suggestion programs for years and find both to be valuable for weight loss and weight maintenance. Here's a mini guide to the best products in this field.
Weight Loss Made Simple CD by Matt Sison, C.Ht. and Rick Schaff, M.S.H.N.
"Create harmony between scientific knowledge and instinctual wisdom to sculpt a lean healthy body." – Matt Sison
Weight Loss Made Simple is the best hypnosis program available today. Both Rick Schaff and Matt Sison possess voices that are silky smooth and easy to listen to. The first time I finished listening to this set I wanted to immediately do so again. Talk about a "feel good" experience.
Don't spend hundreds of dollars on a hypnotist or thousands at a Hypnosis center. This CD set offers you the advice of two well respected professionals in the Hypnosis and Fitness Nutrition industry for a fraction of the price. Available through Matt Sison's Website Hypnosis and weight loss.
Overeating makes brain go haywire? by Annie Kay, Nutrition Examiner
Excerpt: Reuters news reported recently on a new study from the journal Cell that explores a contributor to the obesity epidemic.
The study's authors suggest that calorie overload (eating too much at one time) may activate a usually dormant immune system pathway in the brain, causing a chemical imbalance with far reaching effects in the body. This might be part of the reason that weight gain causes such a variety of health problems.
File this under "science can't keep up with culture".
Eat my shorts by Jamie Van Eaton, Low Carb Examiner
This is hysterically funny but you're going to have to go look for yourselves. I'm not giving away the element of surprise!
More shady acquaintances by Jay McDonough, Progressive Politics Examiner
John McCain admits to hanging around convicted felon Gordon Liddy
Excerpt: Liddy is, of course, a convicted felon who has "acknowledged preparing to kill someone during the Ellsberg break-in 'if necessary'; plotting to murder journalist Jack Anderson; plotting with a 'gangland figure' to murder Howard Hunt to stop him from cooperating with investigators; plotting to firebomb the Brookings Institution; and plotting to kidnap...
Oh, come on! Cheryl Burke is NOT fat by Gail Gedan Spencer, Weight Loss Examiner
Excerpt: Dancing With the Stars hoofer Cheryl Burke is fighting back on the boneheads who have said that she's "fat," People magazine reports.
Supermarket Cart Snooping by Linda Duffy, Denver Low-Carb Examiner
Excerpt: I admit it. I am a cart snooper. I take sneaky glances at other people's shopping selections as I pass them in the isles. Sometimes it is to remind myself of the stuff I used to buy and how unhealthy it made me (cereals, whole grain bread, low fat products...eww!).
Atkins legacy: weight loss, great health and attitude? by Amy Dungan, St. Louis Low-Carb Examiner
Excerpt: Depressed by your LC diet? One study says you should be. Source
I’m always on the lookout for the latest news about low-carb diets. Good or bad, I read it all. Today I came across a study that literally had me laughing out loud. Apparently, because I’ve been on a low-carb diet for several years, I should be suicidal by now...

Can You Say Joe Six Pack The Plumber Illegally Operates His $250,000 Plus Profit Business Three Times Fast?
Turns out this "Joe The Plumber" dude McCain holds up as the "Typical hard working American taxpayer" isn't even a licensed plumber. And this guy owes $1200 in back taxes! Hey, that's all illegal, isn't it?
It appears "Joe The Plumber," the average working Joe made famous in last night's presidential debates, who complained Obama's tax plan would not be beneficial to him, DOES NOT HAVE A LICENSE OR PAY HIS TAXES!
Oh, Joe, say it ain't so. You're a McCain-ward looking kinda guy, Joe Six Pack kinda Palin dude. And you're operating a business – that pulls in more income than the other 98 percent of us – without a license or paying all your taxes? Dude, my husband and I have a more typical small business that made under $40,000 last year together. We have a license. We're up on our taxes. What's your excuse?
McCain's gonna give tax breaks to more rich people who don't follow the rules? Why am I not surprised.
I'm not going to tell you who to vote for. I believe that's a deeply personal choice hopefully based on an educated investigation of all of the candidates, their positions on issues, and their qualifications. I am going to suggest you to do the basic research on both candidates before you commit.
I am supporting Barack Obama. While I respect John McCain for his military service, I fundamentally disagree with his politics and his plans. And his choice of a running mate mystifies me. Surely a more qualified and polished politician from the pool of possible choices would have made more sense. This isn't personal, I don't dislike McCain or Palin personally, it's just political. I'm a liberal democrat, I feel electing George W. Bush was a grave mistake and detrimental to this country, and McCain and Palin are like switching out Bush and Cheney with their political identical twins.
On the other hand, Barack Obama and Joe Biden appeal to me on many levels, not just politically. I'm not going to do a biography on them here, but I'd like to offer a few links to give readers the option of taking a closer look.
I've heard people complain they do not know what Barack Obama plans to do in office. They're certainly not looking very hard. On the Obama website he has a detailed plan on all areas for everyone to check out. To see for yourself click on Obama For America.
For an intimate look at the Obama family check out these photos at Huffington Post.
Instead of believing everything you hear in political ads of either candidate, check out the facts at Fact Checker.org.
