Lose weight and go green

A walk outdoors is an act of going green.

Is losing weight a form of going green? Yes, dieting and exercise can be good for the environment if you believe the results of a new study just published by the International Journal of Epidemiology. Apparently the less you eat the better it is for the ecology of planet earth. Farming and food production are causes of global warming.

The study points out that countries with leaner citizens consume approximately 20 percent less food. This means less greenhouse gases released into the environment. In populations like the United States and Britain, where a large percentage of the population obese, a much larger amount of greenhouse gases are produced. Read more and watch the videos.
